We moved on just after I wrote that.
We were like big kids, one of us waving while the other stood near a bar with wifi watching on the iPhone, then we swapped over! |

not a thing I enjoy looking at anymore Elaine, just watching folks walk up and down a boardwalk to me is boring.

There seems to be more people than usual on the beach but not sure why. I'm with Jayjan on this, I have a brief look most days but not really that interested / interesting Elaine.

Well I don't think I'm that fussed but if I was voting for one of the two we've had so far it would be the beach, sun, sea, sand, people's... That reminds me more of Albufeira than a street shot on the strip.

Why not swing it round occasionally (if possible) to give a different view?
The escalators perhaps.
I am pleased just to be able to get a wee glimpse now and again.

For me personally, I'd rather see scenery than buildings. I love to see how the weather's looking and how rough the waves are (pretty rough at the moment I think) and how many people are enjoying the beach. Ideally I think a shot from anywhere at the west end of the beach (perhaps from the top of the lift) would be great, not only for the views but also for people-watching.
From a tourism point of view, if prospective visitors search for a webcam in Albufeira, I'm pretty sure they would be more likely to fancy a holiday there if they could see a nice beach scene with some characterful buildings in the background, rather than a modern street scene.

One of the best beach/resort webcams I have seen is this one based in Olu Deniz, Turkey.
Gives a good idea of what can be achieved when positioned correctly. It rotates every 5 mins or so on the beach view and then in the evening to fixes on the bar/restaurant until about 3am.
Bottom line is cost and who pays I suppose

Yes, that's a good webcam, nice and clear. I have friends who love Oludeniz and due to go there again soon. They are well travelled and go to lots of different places including USA, Cuba, Mexico Spain and Portugal too - but they love Oludeniz the best of all and return to the same spot year after year. The blue lagoon is lovely I am told. .. one of these days I might get to see it myself.
