Most places will be open but there won't be the crowds you would get in July and August, obviously.

I got told last year that there was ridiculous crowds in may, much more so then the week i went in june. That was from a girl who i met there who had been in both may and june. She was drunk though |

We'd agree with Tom.
Most, say 80% plus, will be open, it will be alive but not rammed, July and August is the 'rammed' period. |

May is a good month in my opinion. There are few kids around (I am a family man so I do like kids) - so it is more relaxed.
The great value available (for accommodation) at the time tends to attract plenty of tourists and the bar prices have not been raised for peak season. Restaurants are less rushed. I'm sure you get the idea. Have a great holiday. |

It's never "rammed" anymore, even in August. Busy, yes, rammed,no.
