We are having great difficulty in finding a hotel in Albufeira for mid September.
There are plenty available but they are not suitable. So we have booked the Jardins Vale de Parra which is a little way out of town. Has anyone any intel on this hotel and how easy is it to get the bus to and from there? Any information would be appreciated as usual thanks Ally |

Well you have about ten very good restaurants around you, not tourist, locals and expats predominantly.
I know the place you've booked as we pass it daily when we're out but have never used it so can't comment sorry. Same re bus, no experience. There is a taxi company that Big Col introduced me to, Gale Holidays, they charge €11 for VdP to Old Town, a great service, reliable and always polite/courteous, they also drive sensibly not like they need to thrash the living daylights out of the vehicle! I'll be surprised if you don't enjoy VdP, it is a little out, five minutes, but that gets you some peace and quiet. |

Andrew: Glad the taxi recommendation worked out successfully. We used them for several return journeys and they were exactly as you described. Great.
Ally: Perhaps a bus is unnecessary depending on how often you wish to go into the old town? |

Bus service at Vale de Parra is very intermittment and irregular. Just one bus each way on Sundays in winter. No buses in the evenings. There are two routes, one goes a little bit around the houses through Galé and Sesmarias. Both stop just on the edge of the old town area, in Rua 1º Dezembro by the statue going into town and in Avenida do Ténis outside the school gates going back.
