The British shops we know are slightly cheaper on a few things, but for example, a four pack of Crosse & Blackwell beans was €1.40. Flora was very expensive, but we can buy that in Continente. [IMG]smileys/Smile.png" height="19" width="19" align="absmiddle" alt="Smile" />

Believe it or not, Flora is actually 20 cents cheaper in apolonia than it is in Continente!!!!

We were impressed with the stock but how are they getting away with not putting translations on the items, thought that was one of the rules over here .

Quote of the week from the latest issue of The Algarve Resident:

Also in line was Kat Mitchener from Lagos, who jumped up and down while saying: “I can’t wait for Chicken Kievs. Look, there is photo of one there, just behind you!” rolling%20on%20the%20floor

They still don't have a price list on their website for this new store, but there is an interesting explanation of how the selling price in Spain is arrived at. The same basic principle applies here,  except of course VAT is higher and going to get higher still

Just as a bit of a light hearted aside I can thoroughly recommend the content of a certain  forum aimed at the "ten bob millionaires" from the "english village" where a former favourite here is regailing the assembled company with more of his usual pompous "boll***s"..........

I have had a truly entertaining few minutes reading through the cobblers posted there.

carvoeiro.com is often well worth a read....if you can stand the snobbery inherent in virtually everything "written" there -
