Just found this info on hiring segways, unlike the ones you can hire on the fishermans beach & marina were you are restricted on where you can ride them you  hire for a week and they deliver to your accommodation. I can't imagine myself having the guts to use one of these but from what I can gather they are fun.Algarvebysegway are based in Faro.

Tripadvisor reviews are good too for those who have had the experience. Not sure I would be allowed to give you the link for tripadvisor so just search it out

mmmm not sure where you would ride these though?

Wherever anyone does, who hires one, be careful out there as the OWNER of Seqway, who lived near me, made the news but I will let you read about it at:-

p.s. also check your holiday insurance covers these sort of activities, a friend of mine ran into a tree face first on a quad bike in New Zealand, not a pretty sight nor experience.
Sometimes in North UK - in Albufeira whenever I can be

Those quad bikes are dangerous.
I know of someone who died of horrendous injuries after riding a quad bike while on hols.
Stuck in a hospital abroad for a long time unable to move, and the family having terrible problems getting their loved one transferred back to UK - also having to raise the funds for costs. It was a terrible trauma for all concerned and the person died at home in UK.  (a grown woman I might add, and not a youngster).

Since then I have heard of many of these quad bike accidents.
