Noticed on the bus yesterday that the walkway and trimtrack is being extended all the way to Camping Albufeira ... at least that is what it looks like ...

Yes - I thought that when I saw it PM. Nice idea for those at Camping and Clube, much safer to walk into town.

Went past on the bus just now. Huge drainage pipes have been stacked up at the Clube Albufeira end and a JCB was busy digging out one of the culverts. My thinking is that this is part of the plan to channel the floodwater through pipes rather than through Pingo Doce.
Now if only they would unblock the drainage ditches along the Avenida dos Descobrimentos! They are completely blocked in some places with long standing mud, now turned to concrete. When it rains, tons of loose material washed down from the banks will have nowhere to go and eventually will clog up the surface drains down in town.
