Went to France on Tuesday & you would hardly know that Christmas was happening.
No boring Xmas music, no decorations or lights up and no massive displays of Christmas tat.
No doubt the same in Portugal too in early November.
It's so refreshing that some Countries can keep Christmas for Christmas time & don't see it as a way of making money.
Unlike the UK where Christmas starts in August - such a shame.

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Just starting to decorate the 2 main shopping centres at guia and faro but luckily no music. santa arrives in faro this saturday. iceland full on crimbo posters and full freezers.

The Christmas Markets open this weekend in Manchester.Used to love them but it is so big now covering all of the streets to the Town hall and square and every where else for that matter and they are so expensive.as you say all about money nowadays.

The big Christmas tree in Continente/ Albufeira Shopping is already up, Christmas ads are on the TV. Not so different to the UK.
