UPDATE 1145 - cloud is now low, it's getting rather murky and it's raining lightly.

Yet another grey day so far, but it's high cloud and not threatening to do anything nasty.

Temperature at 1045am is 16.8C, so a bit warmer than yesterday, the air feels damp and there is just a light breeze.

Maximum today 19C. it will stay cloudy and there is small chance of some light rain later - there is a patch of wet stuff off to the south-west where the wind is coming from.

A rainy day is forecast for tomorrow, temperature daytime around 18C and a warm night  at perhaps 14C.  Showers could last into Friday as well.

The weekend could be cool and cloudy in a north wind, with a good chance of yet more showers.

It's another grey and murky day, very grey indeed looking out to sea.

Temperature at 0910am is 16.0C, the air is very damp at 80% humidity. There are some showers out to the west, where the very slight wind is coming from. this might mean, as yesterday, some light rain later today.

Whatever, it will stay very cloudy with maximum temperature no more than 18C. The wind will pick up a bit later as it did yesterday afternoon, which was quite blustery at times.

It will be a fairly warm night, 14 or 15C at worst. Tomorrow will be another cloudy day with a chance of showers, on Friday there's  bigger chance of some rain.

Light rain! It rained quite hard for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon, predictably while I was walking between bus stop, cat charity shop and Continente. Then it rained on and off for a while longer.

Today it's fairly cloudy again but there are patches of blue sky. There's a very light breeze and the sea is calm. I can see a tug towing a very long barge creeping along towards the west.

Temperature at 12noon is 16.9C, humidity outside 88%, inside 74%. There are a few showers out to the west, which is where the wind is still coming from.

The warm and most air means it won't be at all cold, 13 or 14 at night, 18 - 20 during the day but rainy days are expected on Friday and Saturday.

The great North v South divide
Two pictures taken from exactly the same spot, one looking North and the other looking South. within 30 seconds of each other at around 1.30pm today.
Black as hell over the hills and clear blue sky & sunshine looking towards the sea.
And it has been like that pretty much all day.
And when I looked at the weather forecast this morning it said cloudy all day

Yesterday was a bit odd. This morning though it is dank, grey and foggy where I sit. Rain is in the air.

Temperature at 0930am is 15.4C, humidity 94% with a sort of heavy mist or very light rain, take as you will.

There is a whole bunch of rainy stuff around, so today is probably not going to be very good at all for those wanting to be out and about. Maximum temperature 18C.

The warm and damp air means a warm night again, 13 or 14C. Tomorrow's forecast is for another damp day, with similar temperatures. Sunday will have a mix of cloud, showers with sunny spells and perhaps a little warmer if the sun is out for any length of time.

To contrast with the pictures above, this is the view from my window now.

Yesterday certainly turned out fairly unpleasant, thick low cloud, poor visibility, feeling very damp and with rain every now and then.

Today might be a little better but there are showers around.  Temperature at 10.10am is 16.3C, humidity reading at 88%. Grey clouds are scudding across the sky, much less dense than yesterday and the sun is trying to peep through. It is a little windy.

Maximum today 19C, rain is highly probable right through the day but won't be too heavy.

The warm damp air means another warm damp night, no lower than about 15C.

Tomorrow will be another showery day and with stronger winds , Monday will still have some showers around but ought to be  better day.

Yesterday afternoon was also fairly unpleasant, with squally showers and gusty winds.

This morning began fairly windy, but it is calmer now. The sun is out overhead but there is a huge bank of cloud out to sea. The radar shows a line of fairly heavy showers coming our way from the north west.

Temperature at 1110am is 15.7C, it's a lot less humid than lately at 69%. It might get a little warmer before the rain arrives. Tonight will be reasonably warm at 14C.

Tomorow will be another day of shwoers, temperatures a bit lower than today and Tuesday looks like being pretty cold in a northerly wind, but dry.

UPDATE 1345 hrs - got that wrong! It's raining hard from low cloud, like the picture above.

So far today it has been much better than we have had of late. It is rather windy but it's mostly blue sky this morning.  It's colder as well, temperature at 1030am is 13.6C, humidity 63%.

There are a lot of showers out to the west, but it looks like none are coming our way. Top temperature today in a northerly wind is 16C.

It will be a cold night tonight in that wind, could be as low as 6C. Anyone flying today or tomorrow could have a bumpy ride, the centre and north of Portugal is going to have very strong winds.

Those winds will continue tomorrow, bringing a clear sunny day but a cold one for here, 15C daytime, again maybe only 6C at night. Wednesday will stay on the cold side with the probable added bonus of some showers.

The rain didn't last long yesterday but it became very windy into the night.

Very bright and sunny this morning, but for the tourists it's freezing cold no doubt.

It wasn't as cold up here in Páteo as I expected, 9.2C at 0830am. now at 1120am it is 11.6C with the biggest contrast being the (lack of) humidity with the meter showing 44%. It's a dry northerly wind. But it's a very light wind at the moment.

We might get 15C later and it will feel nice in the sunshine. But cold again tonight under clear skies.

The next couple of days will see similar temperatures and probably a bit more cloud. The numbers are a little lower than a February average. It's very cold at night inland, temperatures around or below freezing.

A nice fresh morning, a bit windy with some scattered high cloud. 9C at 8am, 11 now at 1040 and will be 14 or 15 later. It will be a dry day cold again tonight. Much the same tomorrow, maybe a chance of a shower or two.

It turned very cloudy yesterday afternoon, at least in Portimão where I was. There were also a few spots of rain early evening.

This morning it is fairly dull and grey again, also quite windy. Temperature at 0905am is 10.4C. It's still a northerly wind and there are some showers heading our way.

It won't be much more than 14C today followed by another cold night, down to 8 or 9. Tomorrow will be cloudy and a bit warmer as the wind swings around to come more from the east.

Saturday will be warmer still, perhaps 19C, but with a strong chance of more showers.

Bright and fresh today, but a bit cold. Temperature at 8am was 7.4C, now at 1030am it has risen to 11.2C. Blue sky, just a few streaks of high cloud and a light breeze.

We might have 16 or 17C later, it will be a nice day though even if not that warm. Tonight will be cold again, down to around 8C on the coast, colder inland.

The weekend should be mostly bright and sunny still, maybe a little more cloud and slightly warmer at 18C maximum in the afternoons.

Been here for 3 weeks now and the last week has been bloody cold.
Never known it to be so cold for so long in February, and we've been every February since 2002.
Funnily enough though, after the sun disappeared early this afternoon, and the wind dropped, it suddenly felt a lot warmer.

Bright and sunny this morning, not a cloud in the sky. Dicey - don't worry it is going to be warmer next week but rainy as well!

Temperature at 1110am is 14.5C, a light breeze blows. It could reach 19C this afternoon but cloud will build up as the day goes on.

Not so cold tonight, 11 or 12C. Tomorrow will be rather cloudy, which means less sun and  slightly lower daytime temperatures. Monday is expected to be a showery day, temperature still around 18 or 19C daytime, 10 or 11 at night

(On this day last year the maximum was 15C daytime, 9C at night so not much different. Record low for this time of year is 3C in 2005)
