Red sky this morning, shepherd's warning but now coming up to 9am it is almost a clear blue out there. It's warmer than yesterday already, 21C/70F which is expected to rise to 28C/83F this afternoon, which is well above average for the time of year. There's a light wind, variable in direction and for once the radar shows no rain around. It's nowhere near as humid as the past few days.
Tonight we shall have somewhere between 15 and 17C, so away with the winter duvet and tomorrow we shall have a day similar to today. Friday is expected to be a little cooler but still nice and warm.

It's going to be another hot one today, but it is quite windy as well. Current temperature (9am) 24C/76F set to reach 27C this afternoon. There's a bit of thin cloud and that might build up later. There is a lot of rain and low cloud down to the south and it should stay there. Hayfever sufferers note that the dry windy weather is bringing lots of pollen and dust to our area. I am sneezing furiously despite having taken the pills.
It will be a warm night, down to 20 or 21C, then tomorrow and Saturday forecast to be as hot if not a touch hotter than today, but still windy and with some cloud.

Another hot, sunny but windy day today. it's already hotter than yesterday, 25C/78F at 9am. There's quite a lot of cloud but it's the high fluffy little ones (alto cirrus?) for the most part.
The wind is from the east so still bringing dry and dusty air. Today's expected high 29C/84F which is very much above average for the time of year. Up in the Alentejo it's expected to reach 34C today!
There is a bunch of thunderstorms way down south and they should stay there but there is a slight chance of a shower or two around the region later this afternoon.
It will be another very warm night tonight and over the weekend temperatures are set to be in the 30/31C range, that high 80's in F, so take care in the sun as the wind may make it feel not so hot.
Also, the local met office has reported that April was the coldest here for 40 years. Rainfall was about the normal average for the month and as a result the drought situation has eased a little with 'extreme drought' down here having been replaced by just 'severe drought'.

Not this hot! At 930am it is 25C/77F expected to rise to 31 or 32C this afternoon. Sunday even hotter and Monday 34 or 35C forecast. (Early May average is 23C.) It is still quite windy and the airflow is still bringing dry air from the east.
The dry air means it's not uncomfortable at night despite temperatures no lower than about 21 or 22. But it's rather hayfevery!
The current 10 day forecast is suggesting a marked drop in temperature in about a week, but that will only bring things back to normal. No rain forecast but keep your eyes on the sky during the afternoon as we might just get a stormette.
