Elaine in the wide scheme of things it matters very little for a one off visit. Let's say you were changing £1000, if the difference in exchange rate was 1 cent then you would only have 10 euros less. Not even enough for a game of bingo at the York....................oh that's another story.

Yes you are correct I suppose 1/2 cents won't make much difference. But if I wait until the day I go there could be a significant differece. This is why I am asking is there likely to be a big change in next 2 weeks

Even if there was as big a drop over a two week period as seen in recent times I'm not sure it would matter that much. Again changing £1000 at 1.35 gets €1350. If there is a collapse to 1.31 it gets €1310, a loss of €40. OK a meal out or a good afternoon in the Cavern but not the end of the world.

Can't see any major movements for the forseeable future - rate likely to flucuate between a low of 1.36 and a high of 1.40.
There's very little chance of it going over 1.40 until there is a serious chance that UK interest rates might go up. This seems unlikely in the short term.
Likewise, it's unlikely to go below 1.36 until Greece resolves its problems with the EU and that may take time too.
However, the rate is more likely to go below 1.36 than it is go over 1.40.
Therefore I would suggest that you change your money now and just be happy with what you get and be pleased that what you're getting now is an awful lot more than you could have expected to get 6 months ago.
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

That seems very low compared to the bank rate which is a smidgeon off 1.40 this morning
