Hi all.Arriving late 31st july for 10 days. Our first trip to portugal. We have 4 kids with us and will eat out most nights. The 2 boys can be classed as adults but girls a bit younger. Where would you suggest eating both for good value and enjoyable food.To be honest if someone puts a plateful in front of me i'm happyWink

I dont think I would want to eat in the lower part of the strip if I had young children ,might be better in the top half a lot more peaceful and more important if you go to the English Kitchen you will be in a Kid friendly environment and have food that is is prepared by a Pro Chef
Have a great holiday

There's not a restaurant in Albufeira that isn't welcoming to kids. I've eaten in the English Kitchen and The Cottage and while not my cup of tea (I try to eat a more Mediterranean at home and on holiday) they are excellent at what they do. If you're at the top of the strip though you should try Os Compadres which is Portuguese and excellent value. There are other, similar restaurants in the area. But my suggestion would be to head into the old town where the choice and arguably quality is greater. Highlights for us (2 adults and 3 kids aged 14, 10 and 5) would be O Manjar, O Alentejano, Cabana Fresca and Dom Pipas. The first two are pretty inexpensive, the last two less so.

Agree, but it's horses for courses, but, Cabana Fresca, you pay for what you get and what you get for that price, serious quality food, love the place, when we have new or first time guests we always take them, they always, always love it. And second time guests insist on going back.

Cabana Fresco:- can you tell me more? address, type of food. My wife and I are due to return to Albufeira in late September and usually go to the same restuarants that we trust but we always try at least one new place. We are staying in the Aqua Pedros Dod Bicos in Oura.

Hi Super Ally have you tried Beiro it is just across the road from where you are staying,  down the ally next to the cake shop on the corner.  We found it very good & authentic they cook the food so that you can see it in the kitchen,  sort of like the "Three Palms" but alot more reasonable always packed with portugese, they have one waiter who speaks very good English and they serve good  wine by the caraf and are very child friendly.

Ally,
Cabana Fresca is right on the front, Old Town, by what was the fish Market, it's always rammed, it's that good yet they still have touts, be sure to get a voucher off them, they give them freely, and this will get you 10% off.
Great menu to cover all tastes, their mixed seafood Cataplana is brilliant, then again, their steaks are sublime, just show them the knife, they are that tender that's all you need to do. Presentation is superb, of the food, but not to the detriment of quality or taste at all. Highly recommend.

Currasquieria Beira next to the pasteleria has been there years and is one of our favourite restaurants and always go 2/3 times when staying in Albufeira. Most of the waiters speak English and the owner is always around. They do a list of daily Portuguese specials which are worth looking at and they are always on hand to explain what they are as these are in Portuguese. We have been going for 21yrs and never had a bad meal.

Adega do David, right next to Floyd's is great value and good quality. Vincente the owner isnt the most dynamic chap you will ever meet, but he speaks good English and his cooking is supurb!

We have stayed at the Solar 3/4times over the years and it is in Montechoro left after the Montechoro hotel. There is a good Pastelaria Panito Mole nearby and a small supermarket which I think is still open and there is a larger one near the water park at Montechoro. There is also a good snack bar called something to do with Palm trees on the left hand side as you walk down from the apartments just past the newsagents.I think there is also a snack bar near the small supermarket outside the apartments.
