visiting in october and out or town for first time,thinking of staying out at sunshine guesthouse its on rua diogo ortiz de vilhegas and wondered if it on a bus route i notice the giro does not go out that far.

No ... but if you walk down to Varz de Orada, just left of where the main road approaches road to Marina .. you can pick up the Vermelha/Red1 giro at 29 and 59, until 2059 ... after 1429 Saturday and all day Sunday/Holidays only the 29 runs .. There are other EVA buses using the main Sesmarias road .. and a bus stop up there fairly close to Sunshine ... search for times and routes at www.algarvebus.info

I will just add that the timetable for the EVA buses up on the hill at São Rafael etc is at www.algarvebus.info/030.htm and note no buses on Sundays and Holidays after the end of September. Giro costs €1,40 and will take you right into the old town centre. EVA does not go down into town and costs more Last bus back in October is at 1915hrs every day.

Yes .. of course, October ... which means the last giro will be earlier, 1939.
