A bit more like summer says the local paper here in Médoc this morning. 20ºC at 10am, expecting 24 or 25, still a bit windy. Today in France is the day of the Grand Départ, when the office wallahs start their month off, cramming the family into their cars and suffering 12 hours on the road to get to the beaches.

And yes didn't the sun shine all day when we were lads? Mother used to to send us out at daybreak with a jam sandwich, with orders not to come back until it was dark.

Back to cloud here in Médoc, not too bad but forecast is for cloud, chance of a shower or two later, max 24ºC.

Didn't rain yesterday but stayed cloudy and grey most of the time. Similar start to today, a bit of sunshine is showing through, though still not very warm for the time of year, max today 23 or 24ºC.

Looks like being a better day here in the Médoc, plenty of blue sky anyway though still windy. Might see 25 or 26ºC later.

It was a fairly nice day yesterday but rather windy later. Plenty of surf for those so inclined. Today the local paper says 'at last a summer day' but doesn't look like it yet. Should be brighter later, may see 28 or even 29ºC.

And another grey and cloudy start to the day here in Aquitaine. Seems the sun is only allowed out after 1600hrs. Currently 18ºC (coming up to 9am locally) expecting no more than 24 this afternoon. A few more days then it's back to sunny Albufeira.

Last day by the seaside, sun did come out but only for a couple of hours now it's cloudy again. Picture taken about an hour ago.

Leaving the seaside shortly, customary grey morning clouds and a few spots of rain greeted the three bus loads from some cruise ship (they dock a few miles away) come to enjoy their few hours in the town.

After a really nice day yesterday, it´s back to summer weather here in Bordeaux. 18ºC rising to 23 or 24, cloudy with a risk of showers, possibly thunderstorms tonight.

Looks a lot better in Albufeira for the sun seekers.

Been hammering down non stop for 2 days now.
Great for those in a caravan by the seaside or in a boat on the Broads.
Must be a nightmare if you've got kids.
So much for staycations in the UK in August or to avoid the heat abroad LOLLOL
Complete washout, windy & barely touching 16 degrees although it doesn't feel that much.
And yes, we've had the heating on
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Although we have had some rain off and on in the last few days it's been showery rather than persistent. Certainly I've had time to enjoy the garden although it's not been very hot.

Yesterday had similar weather to today's forecast and it was a lovely evening last night when my local Northern League team were hammered 8-0
