It was so wet yesterday that the final of the Algarve Women's Cup last night was cancelled, pitch flooded.

It's another grey and wet morning but it does look though that it will stop raining soon, for while anyway. The radar shows some clear sky to the west of us. Temperature at 0840am is 14.6ºC. There won't be much sun today, max 16 or 17 this afternoon. Tonight and tomorrow yet more rain, then Saturday and Sunday may be a little better, showers rather than long spells of rain.

But the ten day forecast shows rain or showers for the whole of next week. Dayime temperatures around 17 or 18, night-time 10 or 11.

It will be reasonably busy tonight, but not so much so that you wont get a seat mate.

Very wet. A rude awakening around 730am with wind howling and rain lashing down. It's a bit calmer now, but still raining and blowing. Temperature at 0950am is 15.3ºC, the weather is coming from the south. The radar at http://www.ipma.pt/pt/otempo/obs.radar/# shows a lot more to come today. Not much change for tomorrow, but Sunday may have showers rather than heavy rain but still not nice for visitors.

More of the same is forecast for the whole of next week.

Update 100am - it is actually not bad at the moment - can see some sun and it is fairly bright after a gloomy couple of hours. Nothing on the radar to suggest anything nasty coming for the next two or three hours.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Batten down the hatches, rig for storm! We have a red weather warning for the region today, high winds, heavy rain, very rough seas. It's not raining at the moment though, which after yesterday's delightful weather is a bit of a relief. The sky is turning rather grim out to sea as I write.

Temperature at 0750am is 15.4ºC. Although it is fairly quiet at the moment, the  wind and rain is expected to become worse as the day goes on. Maximum temperature, as if that matters, 18ºC.

Same expected tomorrow, a bit less uncivil on Monday but still some showers around.

It didn't rain here until around 6pm and it was very heavy for a while. Rain did affect other parts of the region but overall it was a better day than expected.

Today began with a  very heavy shower around 7am, that has passed and it is now fairly sunny with clouds rushing across the sky in a strong wind. Lots of whitecaps on the sea, which is running pretty quickly as well.

Temperature at 1030am is 15.5ºC. There is some fairly nasty, thundery, weather to the north of the Algarve, but the radar currently shows only a few very small and scatted showers heading in our general direction.

The wind will be with us all day, top temperature 17 or 18.  Tonight and tomorrow morning should be fairly quiet, but another batch of rain is coming for Monday afternoon and probably for Tuesday as well. The middle of week will also be a wet few days, possibly into the weekend coming.

Driving along A22 last night near Faro. Plodding along 80mph when the heavens opened. No pitter patter warning it was just like driving into a car wash.
Could not see a thing, did not dare stamp on brakes in case of skidding. Wipers on full speed did not clear the window screen. Quite hairy until we got the speed down to 20mph which was as fast as we could go and be able to see out the window.

Yes, although Storm Felix overall was the feline equivalent of a damp squib for this area, there were some very heavy bursts of rain elsewhere. Today does look like being a reasonable day at last. Nothing on the radar to suggest any rain, the sun is out among some high thin clouds. Temperature at 0945am is a very acceptable 15.9ºC. There is a light breeze. It will maybe reach 17 or 18 later, cloudy but should stay dry. Tonight won't be very warm, 8ºC inland, maybe 10ºC along the coast.

Little change expected for tomorrow, might be the odd shower or two but for Wednesday rain is expected to be followed by several more rainy days.

Although it is fairly cloudy and grey this morning, it shouldn't be too bad a day. There's no rain showing on the radar just now. Temperature at 0855am is 16.5ºC but it does feel damp. There is a very light wind. It will stay cloudy, maximum temperature around 19ºC. There is a chance of some light rain this afternoon and evening, maybe no more than the few spots we had yesterday.

Tomorrow is forecast to be a rainy day and a bit cooler than today, Thursday showers with sunny intervals between. Rainy days also on Friday and Saturday but from then on it does seem we shall be having a spell of much better weather for a few days at least. But cross fingers.

It is very windy but not raining, at the moment. The radar shows it is raining just about everywhere else, skies are grey so I am fairly sure we will have some more rain later. Temperature at 10.30am is 15.9ºC. We might have 18 later, down to 13 tonight.

Tomorrow and Friday will be better days, a mix of sun and light showers but with lower temperatures, possibly as low as 8ºC at night.

More rain for Saturday, better and drier day coming on Sunday but wind from the north for a few days so colder days and nights.
